Here at Dudleys Online we stock an extensive range of envelopes and paper and appreciate that sometimes finding what you need can be confusing. To help you choose the correct paper and envelopes for your office needs we have compiled a paper and envelope sizes guide as can be seen below:
UK Envelope sizes / dimensions UK
Standard envelope :
DL : The standard for business letters and our most popular envelope type. A standard A4 letter can be folded three times into a DL envelope. See our range from just £11.99 here.
C6 : Slightly bigger than standard DL - an A4 sheet can be folded twice into quarters to fit inside a C6. More customary for invitation and informal business correspondence. See our range here. An ideal mail envelope size .
C5 : This size can take an A5 piece of paper with no fold or an A4 piece of paper folded once. We have an extensive range here. Also great in mail envelope sizes .
C4 : A larger envelope, C4 is an ideal size for promotional material and A4 size documents. Useful for formal correspondence and artwork. See our range here.
Types of print envelopes :
We have a range of features for sending different documents. We stock all of the following types:
Plain envelopes : No window so ideal for writing or labelling. Available in all sizes here.
Board back : Complete with a card back as support for important documents that cannot be folded. Available here.
Window : Our range has windows of various sizes for pre-typed addresses and descriptions. See our envelope range here.
Gusset : Expandable envelopes which are useful for sending promotional material such as leaflets and catalogues. See our range here.

A2 : The equivalent of four A4 pages. Used for poster and diagrams as well as group brainstorming. Sized 16.5 x 23" or 594mm x 420mm.
A3 : Twice A4 and ideal for graphic work and large scale printing. Often used for presentation display and advertising projects. Sized 11" x 17" or 297mm x 400mm.
A4 : A common paper size - ideal for office use - invoicing, documenting and writing.
A4 size paper dimensions are 8.5" x 11" or 297mm x 210mm.

A5 : Half the size of A4, ideal for notemaking, brochures and flyers. 8.2" x 5.8" or 210mm x 148mm.
A6 : Half the size of A5 and used for postcards and casual notemaking. 5.8" x 4.1" or 148mm x 105mm. This is the same as C6 paper dimensions .
